nightly musing via @joshuaallenj
I want to start off thanking God for my life and everyone blessing in it. Secondly the word on my heart is about what love is, but first what love is not. Love is not limited to feelings and emotions that are directly related to our current circumstances. That my friends is better known as obsession or enfatuation which do alot to feed our flesh. We are deceived if we confuse these feelings with something as powerful as love. I speak the truth when I say that I do not fully grasp the true meaning of love and I’m thankful that it’s beyond human capabilities to perceive. I do believe, however, that God has been able to teach me about it when I’m willing to listen. I always reference 1 John 4 when talking to someone about God’s love and John 15:13 “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” is beautifully brought to light of the truth in the cross of Christ. Seeing Christ as our example on how to live life in the flesh, we are blessed immeasurably when we do the same with our lives. Paul refers to this in Galatians 2:20 when he says that he is crucified with Christ while he still lives. The life we have now, while under the Lordship of Christ, does not belong to us. We have been bought with a price 1 Corinthians 6:20 states, so our lives should testify to that truth. Freedom comes when we understand that when we hand over the reins of our hearts and lives to Jesus, he is now in control and responsible for them. We were never meant to be able to handle our own lives. Praise God for that. Praise God for convicting me as I’m writing this haha.
Good night
